What We Collect

When you use Petty Besties, we collect only what's necessary to run the app:

  • Optional profile information — first name, birth year, and pronouns you choose to provide during onboarding
  • Text inputs — the messages and context you paste into the app for analysis
  • Read history — your past reads, stored locally on your device
  • Burn/Save List entries — first and last initials only, stored locally on your device

We do not require an account, email address, or any identifying credentials to use Petty Besties.

What We Don't Collect

We are committed to minimal data collection. Here's what we explicitly do not do.
  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials
  • We do not sell your data to third parties
  • We do not use your data for advertising purposes
  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not store your text inputs on external servers beyond what is needed to process each request

How We Use Your Information

  • To generate relationship reads and exit strategy content powered by Claude AI (Anthropic)
  • To personalize tone and language based on your optional profile preferences
  • To display your read history and Burn/Save List within the app
  • To manage in-app purchases and subscriptions via RevenueCat

Third-Party Services

Petty Besties uses the following third-party services:

Anthropic (Claude AI)Powers all read, diagnosis, and strategy generation. Text inputs are processed through our secure proxy and are not stored by Anthropic beyond each request. See Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

Data Storage

All user data — including your profile, read history, and Burn/Save List — is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. We do not maintain external servers or databases containing your personal data.

Text you paste into the app is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response, then discarded. We do not log, store, or review your inputs.

Content & Age Requirement

Petty Besties is rated 18+ and is intended for adults only. By using this app, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect any information from users under 18.

Entertainment Purposes

Petty Besties is designed for entertainment purposes. All reads, diagnoses, and strategy content generated by the app are AI-generated and should not be treated as professional advice. Insights are informed by research from The Gottman Institute and Mental Health America.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Petty Besties after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
