Agreement to Terms

By downloading or using Pawntry, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

These Terms apply to all users of Pawntry, operated by Red Shiba Studio LLC.

Important Safety Disclaimer

The information provided in Pawntry — including food safety checks, plant safety results, ingredient label analysis, and Finley AI responses — is for general reference purposes only. It does not constitute veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Always consult a qualified veterinarian before making decisions about your pet's health, diet, or safety.

AI Assistant — Finley

Pawntry includes Finley, an AI-powered pet safety assistant. Finley is built on Anthropic's Claude API and generates responses in real time based on information you provide.

Finley is an AI — not a veterinarian. Finley's responses are informational only and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or not applicable to your specific pet's situation, weight, age, breed, or health history.

Do not use Finley's responses as a substitute for veterinary care. Red Shiba Studio LLC makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, reliability, or outcome of any AI-generated content within the app.

Finley is also the name of the late Shiba Inu who inspired Pawntry. The in-app Finley character is a memorial to him.

Label Scanner Accuracy

Pawntry's ingredient label scanner uses AI vision to analyze pet food and product labels from photos you take. Scanner results are provided as a reference aid only.

Scan results may be affected by image quality, label formatting, ingredient naming conventions, and the limitations of AI image recognition. Results should not be treated as definitive safety determinations.

Always verify ingredient safety with your veterinarian, particularly for pets with known allergies, medical conditions, or dietary restrictions.

Nutritional Standards Reference

Where Pawntry references nutritional adequacy, it is based on AAFCO model standards and nutritional adequacy requirements. Pawntry is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by AAFCO or any regulatory body.

In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Pawntry offers a free tier and optional auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple's App Store. The following products are currently available:

Free trial: Both subscription plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan at the applicable rate.

Subscription billing: Subscriptions are charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings at any time.

Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. To avoid being charged for a renewal period, cancel at least 24 hours before your current period ends via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Prices are displayed in USD and may vary by region based on local App Store pricing.

The free tier includes unlimited food and plant safety checks, unlimited plant scans, up to 5 Finley queries (lifetime, not daily), 1 free ingredient label scan, daily tips, and basic food/plant saves. Free-tier Finley queries do not reset daily — once your 5 lifetime queries are used, a subscription is required for continued Finley access. Saved chat history is a Premium-only feature.

Restore Purchases

If you previously purchased a subscription, you can restore it at no charge via the Restore Purchases option in the app's Settings screen. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID.

Refunds

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple. Red Shiba Studio LLC does not process refunds. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

User Content

When you send messages to Finley or submit photos for label scanning, that content is transmitted to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. You are responsible for ensuring that any content you submit does not violate the rights of third parties.

Pet profile data (species, name, age) is stored locally on your device. Chat messages sent to Finley are processed by Anthropic's API and are not stored by Pawntry on external servers.

Pawntry provides links to pet poison control resources as a convenience. These are provided for reference only and may not be available in all regions. In a poisoning emergency:

Red Shiba Studio LLC is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or response times of any third-party emergency services.

Prohibited Use

You agree not to use Pawntry to:

• Intentionally harm an animal
• Submit content that is false, misleading, or intended to produce incorrect safety results
• Submit content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app

Intellectual Property

All content, design, branding, and code within Pawntry is the property of Red Shiba Studio LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Pawntry is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Red Shiba Studio LLC does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific outcome will result from use of the app. Safety information in Pawntry is general reference content and is not guaranteed to be complete, current, or applicable to every animal or situation.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Red Shiba Studio LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Pawntry, reliance on any AI-generated content, scanner results, or safety information produced by the app, or any delay in seeking veterinary care.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Pawntry after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from use of Pawntry will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the applicable courts.
