When you use Pawntry, we collect information you provide directly:

Pet profile information — pet name, type (dog, cat, rabbit, or guinea pig), age, weight, favorite snack, and photo (optional)
Food and plant searches — foods, ingredients, and plants you search or scan
Device information — standard device data collected by Expo and React Native for app functionality

We also collect:

Location data — only if you grant permission. Used solely to help you find nearby emergency vets and pet services via Apple Maps. We do not store, sell, or share your location data.
Notification preferences — if you opt in to daily tip notifications

What We Don't Collect

We are committed to minimal data collection. Here's what we explicitly do not do.

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials

To personalize results based on your pet's profile

Third-Party Services

Pawntry uses the following third-party services:

Anthropic (Claude AI)Powers food and plant safety analysis. Searches are processed through our secure proxy. See Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

ExpoApp infrastructure and build platform.

RevenueCatManages in-app purchases and subscription state. Purchase history and a RevenueCat-assigned user ID are processed to verify entitlements. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Maps (Apple Maps / Google Maps)Used for Find a Vet Near Me. Opens your device's default maps app externally. Governed by Apple's or Google's respective privacy policies.

Pawntry may display affiliate links to pet product partners. Clicking these links may take you to third-party websites governed by their own privacy policies.

Data Storage

Pet profile data is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. We do not store your data on external servers.

Children's Privacy

Pawntry is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, you may not use this app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Pawntry after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
